Louella Grech is a Maltese warranted lawyer, who has been practising law for 16 years. She is a founding partner at Brockdorff Grech Law. With a Master of Arts degree in Financial Services, conferred by the University of Malta, she started her career at KPMG in Malta, as a tax advisor. A few years later, she headed the legal team in a Maltese company, which formed part of an independent global service provider, offering a comprehensive range of corporate, trustee, and legal support services to multinationals, private equity, venture capital groups, financial institutions, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. She spent close to five years in a Maltese medium-sized law firm, heading the legal, compliance and corporate teams. Louella held the position of compliance officer with a Maltese regulated trustee company, and the positions of director and MLRO of a pensions scheme, where she was responsible for the legal, operational, regulatory and anti-money laundering affairs of the pension administrator company.
She lectured Advanced Taxation in the course leading to the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) conferred by the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT). Her work was published in legal journals.
Louella holds a certificate in Trust Law and Management together with a certificate in Taxation on Trusts and a Diploma in Taxation (Malta Institute of Taxation). She specialises in corporate, trust law and regulatory compliance. She advises clients and assists regularly with corporate, trust, regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering matters.
Louella is a member of the Chamber of Advocates (Malta), the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP), the Malta Institute of Taxation (MIT) and the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP).
